Paid Parental Leave Scheme
Thursday, January 6, 2011 The Paid Parental Leave scheme started 1 January 2011 and is fully funded by the Australian Government. From 1 July 2011, businesses will be responsible for providing parental leave pay to working parents who meet the eligibility criteria.
To make sure your business is ready to provide parental leave pay you can register for the Paid Parental Leave scheme through Centrelink Business Online Services. The registration process will be quicker if you have already registered for an AUSkey on the Australian Business Register - AUSkey website.
When you register, you will receive letters and advice online about your role as an employer in the Paid Parental Leave scheme through Centrelink Business Online Services.
